Starlight Breaker

Right, I’d pretty much left this site for dead. I mean, university work and play (but mostly play) leaves me very little time to do things like update a blog. My intention was to take it up again when I went to Japan for my year abroad as part of my course, but seeing as my webhost has decided to go and charge my card for another two years worth of webhosting, I guess I’d better do something with this site, cause it’s not cheap…

So I’ve found my login details again, dusted off the outstanding comments and spam and found the “post a new post” button on wordpress. Oh, I also updated everything I could (which is much easier now it has a “press here to update” button).

So what can I write about? Nothing springs to mind, so I guess I’ll leave this empty for now? Great blog huh?

Unless you want to know about my year abroad details? I’ve just finished my application for my universities and selected Hitotsubashi University, Keio University and Kansai University as my first, second and third choice respectively.

Anyway, I know I’m flogging a dead horse at the moment, but until I have something to write about I’ll leave it here. Face it, my personal life is hardly interesting.

Don’t know what I did right this time round, but this is the first time upgrading Wordpress worked properly. And I’ve got to say, it was easy, delete, upload and click!

Anyway, onto my first post in what has got to have been 5 or 6 months. Sorry! Started university and joined a hell-load of clubs, which seems to suck up all my time. Congradulations to Neoraptox and Zerocool who are both also at their first choice university. A quick word just to say how great Birmingham university is, if your at that stage of considering universities, come check out Birmingham on a open day!

I’m currently studying BSc Economics and Japanese, the Japanese part of my course is amazing, both my teachers are the best teachers I’ve ever had. A shoutout to Fumi and Junko-sensei, should they be reading this. Only two years until I head off to Tokyo for a year! I aim to do a whole year of blogging for that year

Anyway, not sure where this blog will be heading for now, might try to get it back up and started, writing stuff on whim. Maybe I’ll try and get some writers in on this, kinda feel lonely all here by myself

First of all let me offer my apologies to anyone who tried to access the site in the last 12 hours. We encountered an error and this time, it was not my fault!
Our MySql database packed in for some reason, but I’ve manage to recover all but the settings. I’ll upload the backed up images tomorrow morning, along with the sites theme. At least this has taught me to back up the website regularly , I’ll be backing up once a month at least now.

EDIT: Most functions restored, looking about to see if I’ve missed anything, feel free to give me a shout if you see something like a picture missing. And I emphasise again – it wasn’t my fault this time!

I quite like our current look – spent a while messing about with the coding until I realised changing the colour of the title text had actually been made an option! Thumbs up to the people who coded this theme!

The new width should allow us to post screenshots with greater ease, and the general layout is quite good, so until someone comes up with something better, I’ll keep it as it is. Better get blogging then!

Starlight Breaker just got a new image! Why?

Well let me assure you it had nothing to do with me screwing up a wordpress update, along with wiping the MySQL database to try and get wordpress to work again. Hehe…no really, it had nothing to do with that.

On the plus side we now seem to have a brand spanking new site with with to fill with ecchi anime reviews and our random blogs on tea and the like. Indeed, since my A-levels have finished (I think I’ve done okay, incase anyone was interested) I should be posting more along with writing my fanfiction. Oh, and working, of course…

I’ll wait until David comes on after his exams to sort out all my formatting and lost files, as well as yell at me for being stupid for not keeping any back ups. Oh well – I’ve probably left out a whole load of settings I’ve forgotten. I need to give all our authors back their accounts as well, seeing as they managed to get deleted as well during my charade.

I also stole the theme because to be honest – I really couldn’t be bothered to go and make another one after the weeks of fustration we discovered last time. Really, David and I were at the computer every break and lunch yelling at the screen. After I managed to change all the text colours from pink to white, and correct the links, I then managed to put a image in a post which threw the structure off completly, but you guys (and gals) don’t want to know about that, so I won’t bore you.

Seeing as my holidays have now started (literally, today – I came home wanting to start blogging again so I updated wordpress) I’ve chosen to go for Zettai Karen Children, currently at 10 episodes and going for 52. Hopefully I’ll get that started tonight or tomorrow, look forward to it!

I’ll also pick up some series which are starting to air over the next few weeks, but I’ll let the other authors take their pick first, wouldn’t want to hog all the good anime would I? Not that the others share any of the same likes as me…moe~

That’ll be enough for now, I’ve explained myself to a certain extent, I’ll go muck about with the settings now! Billy, signing off for the first time!
